Philosophy

Drawing inspiration from many sources such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, and nature based programs, Rewild the Child is not any particular thing but whatever it needs to be at a given time. One thing it is not, is a preschool program. Rather, I follow an emergent curriculum approach. Emergent curriculum is a way of planning curriculum that is based on the children’s interest and passion at a certain point in time or serendipitous events. Children thrive and learn best when their interests are captured. Learning occurs naturally. I am here to facilitate, mediate, and set limit after limit. Although academics will not be integral in the traditional sense, I promise you the most imperative lessons will be learned all day long.
